The Marines went from compound to compound, asking the local people about insurgent activity. After talking to numerous households, the Marines returned to debrief and talk about what they learned.

Marines in Infantry Officers Course conduct a Mountain Attack at the Bullion training area March 21, 2012. The Mountain Attack was part of their four-day culminating exercise from PALM FEX.
The 210th, 211th and 212th Rescue Squadrons, 176th Wing, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson participated in Exercise Mojave Viper with the Marines from 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, before they deploy to Afghanistan together later this year. The exercise consisted of multiple real-world scenarios, such as emergency medical evacuations for mass casualties from a convoy and rooftop evacuations. This exercise further prepared both forces for real-world combat situations and brought members of the sister services closer together - 23rd March 2012
