as suggested, here are some of the pics from my album. i don't have a problem posting these as the fobs and cops in the images have either been destroyed or taken over by iraqi security forces, which might as well amount to the same thing.

lahib, al anbar, 2008. thats me on the left. my squad leader on the right, died from wounds sustained in afghanistan in july. rip.

first pump, city of haditha, al anbar, sept. 2006-april 2007.

i was third team leader, so i ran the end of the foot patrol with my saw gunner. anyone who has had to do that with an infantry unit knows how much it sucks. i'd say its worse than point man, unless you're bad with maps.

with a thumper on post in haditha. that was december 06, and anyone who has an impression that the middle east is warm is an idiot. i've come closer to freezing out there than i have in 18 years living in the north-east.

our entry control point, with a .50 cal.

tanks support on the haditha dam. as much animosity as lies between grunts and anyone else, the tankers who backed us up there were legitimately insane. i don't know what they didn't shoot at.

i got my 7-ton license after my first deployment. going from driving an eagle talon to an armadillo was a bit of an adjustment. especially when they stuck a 12 foot mine roller on the front. this is me with my truck during a resupply mission.
