è già da un pò che stanno sperimentando la nuova protezione balistica. Prima era solo in multicam, ora in marpat desert quindi credo che sia stata "promossa" a tutti gli effetti.
Sull'M27 abbiamo già discusso e troppo ci sarebbe ancora da discutere ancora però il comando USMC ha deciso così, che ci vuoi fare?
Secondo la loro "analisi strategica" quando una pattuglia esce in missione il tizio con l'arma più grossa viene preso di mira subito sia perchè è quello che mette in difficoltà più degli altri (muoversi sotto il fuoco di un arma a nastro non è saggio) e sia perchè visto il peso è quello più impacciato nei movimenti e rallenta tutto il gruppo. Quindi la loro idea era di sostituire tutte le mitragliatrici leggere (le minimi, appunto) con un fucile molto simile a quello degli altri fanti e più leggero di una SAW ma con la capacità di mantenere un fuoco sostenuto senza dare problemi. Secondo loro questa cosa porta i seguenti vantaggi:
- leggerezza dell'arma e quindi maggiore agilità dell'operatore
- "camuffamento del mitragliere" che non è più quello con "l'arma più grossa"
- precisione nel fuoco di supporto (pochi colpi ma buoni)
Teoricamente è un ragionamento corretto ma che senso ha avere un arma che è capace di sostenere raffiche prolungate con un caricatore da 30 colpi? Per avere lo stesso numero di munizioni di un saw gunner "classico" dovrebbe portarsi dietro 20 caricatori da 30 e tutto il discorso della leggerenzza e dell'agilità ne risente un pochino. Per non parlare del fattore psicologico perchè quando senti sparare una minimi tieni giù la testa, se senti sparare un "fucile d'assalto" riesci a rispondere al fuoco in qualche modo e sicuramente ne risente anche la sicurezza degli altri operatori.
Alla fine è come se fosse un BAR moderno, avrebbe lo stesso scopo ma hanno la memoria corta e non ricordano che è stato sostituito proprio da armi a nastro leggere :D

più che altro mi aspetterei di vederli perlomeno in uso con delle CMAG... con i serbatoi da 30 hai voglia a fare copertura... mah...

i CMAG sicuramente non li adotteranno perchè non c'è nessuna notizia ufficiale a riguardo, invece c'è qualche voce di corridoio non ufficiale che parla di questi

che sono prodotti dalla surefire e sono da 60rd, ne esiste anche una versione da 100rd ma sarebbero stati scartati per lo stesso motivo dei CMAG, perchè servirebbero delle tasche apposite e molto ingombranti per contenerli
