Per riallacciare il discorso iniziato con red, avete notato che non si parla di force recon nella didascalia ma è molto generale? Solo di marines appartenenti alla 24th MEU, eppure le flight badge di questi tipi sono eloquenti.... c'è il simbolo NATO di un "unità anfibia da ricognizione" e quante ne conoscete nei marines? :D poi c'era anche l'altra didascalia presa da usmc.mil che parlava chiaramente di force recon.Quote:

Dall'equipaggiamento è chiaro che non sono force recon ma qualche battalion landing team (fanteria delle MEU), eppure non c'è distinzione nella didascalia... questo non ci facilita certo la vita :DQuote:

Poi sempre riguardo a quel discorso, secondo un piccolo ragionamento sarei arrivato a sbrogliare la matassa delle differenze tra force recon e recon battalion anche grazie a queste ultime foto.
Secondo me quelli che noi chiamiamo force recon non sono altro che i direct action e i reconnaissance platoon delle unità MEU, quindi sono piccole unità con compiti speciali al servizio delle MEU mentre i recon battalion sono battaglioni distaccati dalle MEU che "agiscono indipendentemente" e che sono più simili ad un piccolo esercito da ricognizione (con la sua unità di fanteria, comando, artiglieria e logistica). Ossia, sono sempre soldati che hanno effettuato l'addestramento da ricognitori però agiscono più come un unità di fanteria super addestrata (ricordate generation kill? è l'esempio perfetto...).
Magari ho scoperto l'acqua calda però al momento alcuni aspetti dei marines mi sono ancora oscuri, tra cui la fantomatica differenza tra FR e recon BN

Seriamente, i FR platoon agganciati alle MEU (che non sono altro che la più piccola unità QRF a disposizione all' interno della FMF) fanno parte del Ground Combat Element della MEU, e danno ad essa gli strumenti necessari per avere capacità di ricognizione, DA ecc... quelo che gli permette di essere Special Operations Capable.
Questo è quello che ho capito leggendo un pò in giro, poi tante volte capita che le didascalie sia generiche o addirittura sbagliate; non si può essere sempre certi al 100%.

Io sapevo che fossero la stessa cosa.
Quando una MEU viene formata pescano il personale da più battaglioni/regimenti, tra cui i recon dai loro rispettivi "battalion" che svolgono appunto i compiti che diceva jar e hanno la consistenza, una volta inseriti in una MEU, di un plotone.
