Auto-scroll when dragging
If the user wants to move an element by dragging, but destination is not visible, he will have to scroll. In the previous versions wasn’t possible at all to drag and press scroll at the same time because mouse button was already pressed for dragging. This problem has been solved in the latest version of
CompeGPS Land: when the user approaches to the limit of the data tree,
CompeGPS Land will automatically scroll.

CompeGPS Land allows the user to change the direction of the zoom wheel. Depending on user’s preferences the zooming wheel can work in opposite direction comparing to other standard softwares.

More information).

This way you are not forced to save the file in CompeGPS folder, where it would be read automatically.
‘Profiles’
A new data tree item has been added: ‘Profiles’. It will show elements of profile files which have position data inside them (gpx, kml/kmz, not CJT).
Only profile files with more than one type of file (waypoints, tracks, routes) will be shown at this section. If profile file has only one type of file (e.g. track), it will not be shown in ‘profiles’ section but in the section of the type (e.g. Tracks).
Add directories at file-open dialogs
File-open dialogs can be configured in order to add more default directories to the current list. By default only ‘Desktop’ and ‘My Documents’ directories are present as accessible links. By fixing personal folders at file-open as stable links, the user can get faster access to most used directories.
To add more accessible directories by default click at: ‘File > Options > Folders > (the file-open dialog which will be modified)’. Every file-open dialog is configured independently, changes will only affect the concept folder which is being modified. New accessible folders can be applied for these file-open dialogs: maps, tracks, waypoints, routes, profiles and photos.

CompeGPS has designed its own set of icons for Land. These icons are divided into several categories: direction, vehicles, nature, buildings, numbers, symbols, flags, objects...

TRACKS NEW FEATURES
Track report
New function to print track reports has been developed. These reports are presented in printable templates which include the most interesting track data fields such as: day, departure time, duration, accumulated climb, mean speed, distance with height... It also includes two graphics: the general track map and the altitude graph during the trip. Depending on the device, it can also show data for heart beating rate, speed sensor rating and cadence’s revolutions per minute.
Before printing the report, the user is also able to choose between two different styles for template presentation: ‘File > Options > Tracks’.
In order to print the report, follow these steps: ‘contextual menu of the track > tools > track report’. Make a PDF file from it is also possible if the right PDF plug-in is installed. That’s how track template will look like:
Publish track in Facebook (by GPX-view)
In case
CompeGPS Land is connected to internet, a track can be uploaded to
Gpx-view, and from there, shared in
Facebook. That represents an innovative way to share and exchange experiences with other users.
Configurable parameters
Two options have been moved to a new location: ‘Separate tracks if downloaded in one file’ and ‘Delete the stopped points in the beginning and at the end of the track’ are now placed at ‘Advanced Communication options’ window. These options popped up every time the user opened a downloaded track. From now on these messages will no longer appear, the predefined answer to both parameters will be ‘yes’. So in case the user wants to change it, both options will be configurable at ‘File > Options > GPS > Advanced Communication Options’.
Image formats accepted
In previous versions, track editor only supported *.bmp and *.gif images. In order to unify it, in the newest version track and roadbook editors support all
CompeGPS Land image formats.
Minimum Moving Speed
Another track option has been added: Minimum Moving Speed. (File > Options > Tracks). That represents the minimum speed to be considered movement. By fixing this value, the movements under the value won’t be counted as movements, just stops.
Keeping original names when saving GPX profile
At data tree, when two different tracks are saved as .gpx profile, original names of the new profiles are being kept. Resulting .gpx files will have exactly the same name as they were created, there will be no renamed.
Invisible in tree and in graph
Graph function used to represent all opened tracks at the same graphic. New improvements have been developed in order to represent only the selected tracks from the data tree. Non-selected tracks won’t appear in the graph.
WAYPOINTS NEW FEATURES
WPT files with Geocaching information

The user can also multiselect tiles on map, and even send them to device:
RTMAP subfolders
Instead of having all them mixed, tiles can now be organized in subfolders inside RTMAP general directory.
Hypermaps
A new command to create hypermaps has been added to the ‘maps’ section of the tree. To create hypermap: just drag and drop using the tree view.
(Read user manual 7.1 for a detailed explanation)
Option to define primary maps
The user is able to choose the right projection mode when a situation with several mixed map projections takes place. The user is able to select between: the first loaded map projection, the last loaded map projection or by fixing a determinate projection instead of a primary map. This option can be configured at: ‘File > Options > Coordinates’.
At the same control panel is also possible to select the right primary projection from a shortened list:
Hypsometric colour
Hypsometric colour selector has been added to
CompeGPS Land. The user will be able to customize the reliefs (CDEM) using three different relief colours.
New 3D options
Two new features for 3D have been created:
- With the first one, the user will be able to choose the 3D quality render depth, so by doing this, is possible to select from a range of qualities how concrete the final drawing quality will be.
- A second feature has also been included at ‘File > Options > 3D > General’. This one permits to select the maximum number of tiles to show (0 = automatic).
2D shading
A new improvement has been developed: from now is possible to apply 2D shading relief from other different directions (above, down, left and right). Just enter at ‘view’ menu and select this option.
Insert photos will be easier

CompeGPS Land, the user will be able to drag photos from the big photo list to the map. Until now the only way to do it was by selecting the photos from the data tree.

Delete map from data tree
A new option has been added to data tree’s contextual options: Maps can be deleted from the Storage Elements list.
Copyright message when trying to print a protected map

Identify
This function allows the user to check the proprieties and characteristics of each and every single element of
CompeGPS Land. At tool bar, when ‘identify’ button is pressed, the mouse is replaced for a dartboard. Every element clicked by this dartboard is described in a lateral pop-up window with detailed information.
If the user prefers not to show this button at the tool bar, is possible to remove it by right clicking and selecting ‘customize’. The following step would be unselect ‘identify’ option.
Lock indication for preview window
At open files dialog’s preview window, if the map you want to open is locked, you will aware about this protection: the user will see a lock on the screen. That will be very useful to see which of your maps are still encrypted.
