Comunque belle belle le foto, molto interessanti anche per via della collaborazione con i nostri connazaionali.
allora,per rispondere a Petro: è il mk18 ris II da 12" della Daniel Defense,issued con le carabine sopmod block II.
Io ho comprato,ormai è un anno,la versione civile in nero,è l'ho montata sul mio G&P. (Ho copiato il G&P modello Defender/enforcer,però con ris vero!!).
Ti posto qualche foto presa in velocità qui e la googlando "mk18 ris II sopmod etc" :
Conta che è in dotazione a tutto il sopmod (se non erro) quindi alcune foto sono di Seals piuttosto che Green Berets etc..
Alcune come vedi sono prese dall'ambito civile,comunque ritraggono lo stesso rail system.
Come già saprai il mk18 ris II esiste in diverse misure per soddisfare la lunghezza della canna dell'arma.
Queste ultime due sono di una manifestazione dove i Seal mostravano al pubblico i loro "gioiellini":

il ris da 9" lo conoscevo, è da un po' che si vede nelle foto montato sui nuovi mk18
quello da 12" mi mancava... davvero niente male

La Daniel Defense costrui il suo "m4" con delta di mira classico,nella solita posizione e ris "avvolgente" la tacca:
Poi però,su richista Sopmod,eliminò il classico delta di mira con recupero gas dell' m4a1 e costruì una rail no-stop per venire incontro alle esigenze di totale modularità richieste dalla Crane.
Obiettivamente esteticamente migliore e funzionale,con gli ormai comunissimi flip-up.
Questi ultimi sono della serie SR della Knights,poi ovviamente credo sia a discrezione dell'operatore scegliersi i più graditi.

L'M16 è uno dei rari fucili che può essere convertito rapidamente sul campo in machine gun, mantenendo lo stesso calibro oppure con calibri differenticosa diavolo ha in mano il tizio seduto sul pianale dell'humvee?
cambiando solo otturatore e canna... l'esercito americano ha in dotazione i vari kit di trasfoirmazione che sono facilmente trasportabili in qualsiasi zaino

Periodo di Panama non è ho purtroppo (per altro sono piuttosto ignorante sul periodo storico)
Ammesso e non concesso che tu non voglia usare l'erdl o la classica OD, uno spunto per un setup USMC anni '90 te lo possono fornire queste foto

Io per altro sto costruendo qualcosa di molto simile, solo che in chiave 82nd ABN.
Ad ogni modo, grazie alla necessità di mischiarsi con i soldati dell'ANA, la woodland sta rivivendo una seconda giovinezza, il che mi fa davvero un gran piacere,essendo la mia mimetica preferita (specie in versione RAID).

E' interessante vedere pure come negli ultimi tempi dopo le lamentele sul 5.56 che non permetteva ingaggi decenti sui 500 metri (distanza media degli ingaggi con i talebani), abbiano affiancato ormai del tutto le armi leggere in 5.56 con le M240B che sono ormai parte integrante della squadra di fanteria e l'utilizzo sempre più massiccio di armi a lungo raggio come fucili di precisione e M2 per la difesa di punti sensibili
