dovremmo aprire un topic con tutte queste foto "bizzarre"
Petro, non solo i fucili sono usurati da sembrare cromati ma se ci fate caso più andiamo avanti nella guerra e più le unità di fanteria di prima linea sono logorate in generale: tasche aftermarket per sostituire quelle issued probabilmente rotte, telini o mimetiche strappate, tattici e tasche consumati/sporchi da far schifo e via dicendo. E sempre più spesso si vedono anche queste tamarrate.
Nei primi mesi o anni di guerra erano tutti più perfettini ed è probabile che sia la crisi economica che il morale sta incidendo anche su questo fattore e i superiori lasciano correre se vedono cose fuori posto. Se avete visto generation kill o comunque conoscete le tradizioni dei maries, sapete benissimo che il fucile e la divisa sono sacri e andare in guerra con una mimetica/telino strappato è sintomo di "rilassatezza" sotto il punto di vista del rigore (e quindi o morale basso o mancanza di fondi)
Beh quando magari è già il terzo o quarto schieramento in teatro di guerra penso sia anche normale vedere cose più o meno logorate, poi il velo di sabbia e polvere fanno il resto, magari facendoli sembrare più usurati di quanto non siano realmente.

probabilmente è anche la difficoltà nel rifornire la prima linea e l'ostilità dell'ambiente operativo.
basta scorrere poche pagine indietro per vedere gli stessi marines 3^batt 12^regg. appena dislocati sfilare tutti lindi e puliti come una serie di manichini.
Il riferimento a generation kill è azzeccato, se ti ricordi ai protagonisti spesso è capitato di dover lasciare indietro delle risorse utili nell'impossibilità di trasportarle (ad esempio il camion con la bandiera)... probabilmente (e parlo sempre per ipotesi) finché la cordura dei vest tiene quel tanto che basta per tenere su piastre e caricatori e le mimetiche sono ancora indossabili, la precedenza viene data a cibo, acqua, munizioni e batterie per le apparecchiature.
più che un ipotesi direi che si tratta di buon senso; una mimetica stinta e strappata potrà far storcere il naso a qualche "brass", ma in confronto a trovarsi sul campo senza le batterie per gli NVG, o senza cibo e acqua direi che l' importanza è decisamente minore...
poi vabè, certe tamarrate son dovute al fatto che hanno vent' anni come noi e Generation Kill l' avranno imparato a memoria pure loro...![]()
Il discorso che fa petro è giusto, ma secondo me dopo anni di guerra si sono anche ammorbiditi un pochino per alleggerire il peso "psicologico" sui soldati. Non è semplice stare tutto quel tempo col pensierio che magari il giorno dopo ti ritrovi dentro una bara (ricordiamoci che quella non è una guerra convenzionale a tutti gli effetti e molte volte si combatte contro "il nulla") e star a sentire anche il tuo superiore che ti rompe la scatole per un baffetto fuori posto (cit. generation kill), una mimetica strappata o una bandana del jack daniel comincia a diventare pesante anche se sono addestrati per stare in quelle situazioni! Alla fine sono essere umani...
