Tippmann Sports LLC, a U.S. based paintball marker and equipment manufacturer, intends to enter the airsoft market with their own M4 Carbine replica based on the Tippmann 98 engine. The new model in question, revealed late February 2014, features the company's inline bolt system with anti-jam technology as well as a versatile air system, adjustable in rate of fire (8-20 bps) and muzzle velocity (300-400 fps), that can be powered by either a 12g CO2 cartridge (fitted within an 80 round capacity magazine) or through the built-in remote line to an HPA setup. The M4 Carbine will accept authentic AR-15 furniture and is furthermore compatible with standard airsoft inner barrels and 30-300 round capacity magazines. Tippmann hope to release their M4 Carbine this summer for about 400 USD, with extra magazines estimated to cost about 25 USD.
