Kit sveglia.. disinnescabile!

Volevo segnalarvi un piccolo kit da assemblare reperibile su internet che può venire particolarmente bene nei nostri game



Ebbene si, una sveglia con funzione di countdown regolabile che per essere fermata bisogna tagliare uno dei quattro fili superiori, scelti a caso ogni volta!

ma visto che un video vale più di mille parole.. :P

interessante, bisogna capire per bene come funziona perche puo essere un belo strumento o na cagata

in sostanza è un contatore (non un'orologio nel senso elettronico del termine, con un clock al quarzo) su base arduino riprogrammabile. i quattro fili sono messi a massa nello zoccolo di destra, tagliando quello "giusto" il controller ritorna alle sue funzioni normali

appena ho tempo per assemblarlo fornisco un feedback più accurato

intanto sta cosa è da assemblare a casa, non la mandano gia pronta...poi bisogna programmarla da pc o sbaglio?

la spediscono già programmata, è un kit elettronico semplice semplice (per chi ha già preso in mano un saldatore), se no in un paio d'ore a essere larghi si assembla

se uno si vuole cimentare e riprogrammarla la porta c'è comunque

Xanxan, se riesci a postare lo schema coi componenti di un clock simile, programmabile senza l'ausilio del pc (magari con dei trimmer abbinati a dei condensatori, il classico sistema R-C), e magari con la possibilità che tagliando il filo errato il cont-down accelera, ti do una bella rep + e la prima volta che passo per genova, o se passi tu per milano ti offro una birra.

le potenzialita sono molte, secondo te si riesce a riprogrammare facendo in modo che TUTTI i cavi tranne uno la facciano saltare?
ce ne sono due che non fanno niente, uno detona e uno spegne, si puo programmare cosicche faccia detonare con 3 su 4?

tex, se vedi la prima foto, sotto lo zoccolino destro ci sono due microswitch con l'impostazione di ore e minuti, credo si imposti così.

Hacking the Defusable Clock

At nootropic design we make our hardware designs as hackable as possible. The Defusable Clock is based on Arduino technology so that it can be easily reprogrammed using the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment). Anyone with beginner level programming skills can modify the behavior of the Defusable Clock. To program the device, you will need to install the Arduino IDE which you can download from the Arduino web site.

	You also need a USB-to-serial adapter cable or board. You can find a USB-to-serial programming cable in the nootropic design store, and they are widely available elsewhere. An adapter board like this will also work.
	Connect the cable or adapter board to the programming header such that the black wire and green wire match the markings on the silkscreen.

Download and compile the Defusable Clock firmware. Install this in your Arduino sketchbook directory. Now you can make changes to the code as you see fit. It is documented reasonably well.
Compile and upload to the Defusable Clock board using the Arduino IDE. In the Arduino Tools->Board menu, choose "Duemilanove" as the board type. The Defusable Clock ATmega328 chip has the Duemilanove version of the Arduino bootloader (not the Uno version).

Usage Guide

Setting the Time

To set the time, simply press the HOUR and MIN buttons. You can hold the buttons to make the numbers advance automatically. When setting the hour, the LED marked PM will indicate that the hour is PM. (The PM LED is only lit when setting the time and alarm because it is quite bright and distracting.) Setting the Alarm

Hold down the ALARM button (lower left corner of board), then use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the alarm time. The LED marked PM indicates if the alarm time is PM. There are 3 alarm modes, OFF, ON, and DEFUSE. To cycle through the alarm modes, hold the ALARM button, then press the large red DET button. Two LEDs indicate which mode the alarm is in. One LED is near the ALARM button, the other is near the large red DET button.

Turning off the Ringing Alarm

When the alarm is beeping (normal mode), turn the alarm off by pressing the alarm button. For snooze, press the red DET button. Alarm will ring again in 9 minutes.
If you are using the "defuse" alarm mode, you can try to defuse the clock by cutting the right wire. Otherwise, the 10 second countdown will reach 0 and the device will "detonate".
Starting the Countdown Sequence

Press the red DET button to start a 10 second countdown sequence. If you want the countdown length to be longer, press the HOUR and MIN buttons before releasing the DET button. You can set the countdown to be up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds. During the countdown, choose the correct wire to defuse the device. One wire stops the countdown safely, two have no effect, and one will cause the device to detonate immediately. The role of each wire is assigned randomly each time the DET button is pressed.

Do you sell the other parts like the fake dynamite?

No. The Defusable Clock is a kit for assembling the electronics. You build your own fake device to put it on. For example, you can make fake dynamite by covering wood dowels with brown paper. See the gallery for ideas. Do you sell the Defusable Clock in assembled form?

No, due to high demand we don't have the resources to assemble the kit for you. Soldering is easy and you can learn to do it properly even if this is your first electronic kit! This kit is all through-hole soldering, no surface mount parts. If you want to learn to solder, you can read this tutorial and look at this list of resources. Do I need to replace the wires every time I cut them to defuse the clock?

No, if you don't want to constantly replace wires, you can simply pull the wires out of the screw terminals. You need to leave the screws loose enough to pull the wire out, but tight enough to make an electrical connection. Does it matter how the 4 wires are connected to the clock?

No, as long as the 4 terminal connections on the left side are connected to the 4 terminal connections on the right side, the order does not matter. All the connections on the left side are the same -- they are connected to ground. Can the clock be powered by batteries?

Yes. Six AA, C or D cell batteries can wired in series to provide 9V. C or D cells will provide the longest life (several days). A 9V battery will only last a few hours. The clock draws about 90mA of current. How accurate is this clock?

It is fairly accurate, but may gain or lose up to a few seconds per day. It is accurate enough to serve as an everyday clock, but is not a precision timepiece. Can the Defusable Clock be used to build a real explosive device?

The Defusable Clock is no more dangerous than any other clock. Of course, someone with electronics knowledge can build something dangerous, but this kit is not going to enable that more than a regular alarm clock. Should I make a fake bomb and bring it to school or work to show my friends?

NO, are you crazy? It's possible to make very authentic looking device, which means it's possible to scare people and make law enforcement take it seriously. DON'T scare people with such a device, leave it unattended in public, mail it to someone, or take it to the airport.
