GHAZNI PROVINCE, Afghanistan--Paratroopers of 3rd Platoon, Company D, 2nd Brigade, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Infantry Division, conduct a dismounted patrol through Mulakala, Afghanistan, Aug. 30, 2012. During this patrol they found more than 100 pounds of homemade explosives, which were detonated by Explosive Ordinace Disposal.

Alexander Lawrence, the platoon leader for 3rd Platoon, Company D, 2nd Brigade, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Infantry Division, catches his breath after multiple dismounted patrols Aug. 30, 2012, around the village of Mulakala, Afghanistan. Lawrence led his platoon through three days of fire fights and patrols with no coalition casualties, and caused damage and disruption to the enemy and their supply routes.
