twonav e' un software di navigazione utilizzabile sia in outdoor come un gps garmin sia in strada come un tomtom.
questo software esiste in versione poket (per i poket pc) e in versione tablet (per i tablet pc)

questo software viene venduto anche abbinato a un hardware di loro produzione (vedi recensione qui) e l'impressione che ne ho avuto dopo una breve prova e' un software valido.
la principale caratteristica e' quella di supportare cartografia raster (foto aeree o scansioni di mappe) oltre alla normale cartografia vettoriale.
la versione tablet non l'ho mai provata, mi spiace. potete trovare maggiori info sul sito o sul loro forum.

16/12/2009 annunciata la versione 2.1 imminente, la 2.0.9 beta e' stata lanciata da qualche giorno ormai.
twonav official version 2.1 will be released soon. by now, it is possible to have an almost definitive version from 'download > beta versions'.
we still don't have a complete list of new features, but here we will highlight some of them:
- advanced mode: you can enable it from 'menu > settings > advanced'. when enabled, some 'advanced' functions are shown inside that section and also in other places of the menu.
- separate profiles for onroad and offroad, regarding:
> content of the menu
> state of some options (mainly the ones at 'settings > display).
> data fields - customizable tool from 'settings > display (in advanced mode), with new functions:
> shutdown screen
> enable/disable gps
> open...
> mark wpt
> mute
> close all - graph available in place when a route or a track is navigated in offroad. then the bar will have 3 states (nothing, data, graph).
- antialias: smoothing lines in vector maps.
- vmap shapes in perspective: to adapt better the size of the shapes to the deep and make a more real effect.
