When I was with the 501st TMW in 87 we were issued US body armour, webbing and weaponry which was used as was at the Gama site and mixed and matched with our own in the field. Chippewa boots were a big favourite.
Some wore US Kevlar in preference to the D-Day turtle steel pot we got issued, at least until the British mk6 arrived. I have to say a fair few of my American colleagues did not remain very 35-10 when we deployed however much they may have complied on base. the practise at the time by brits to layer under their uniform with civilian fleeces did leach into practice too with the SP's.
At times (although rarely) the only way to really tell was the BCG's https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/for...ult/crying.gif or the airmans trousers, if they were DPM he was a Brit, If they were BDU he was a Yank.....I only used an N3b Parka a couple of times, mostly I stayed native with my dpm. I was surprised at how popular the British version of the BDU cap was with the US guys. I can't repeat the accepted colloquialism for that headgear. https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/for...ult/unsure.gif

Territorial Army soldiers take part in a Battle Camp at the Sennybridge Training Camp in mid-Wales. The camp allows the troops to conduct live weapons firing and practice their firing tactics as they train for possible operations in the future.Crown Copyright
