Lo SCAR L non fornisce una valida alternativa alle varie piattaforme attualmente in uso. Se lo terranno nelle armerie come ferma porte.
Per il 416 questa mi è nuova, so per certo che è stato distribuito alla quasi totalità degli operatori delle Tier One Unit, e a un Seal Team intero, in proposito tempo fa avevo recuperato un'articoletto dove si richiedeva l'aquisizione di oltre un centinaio di 416 più parti di ricambio e assistenza.
Forse ne è stato sospesa l'aquisizioni per questioni di costi..resta di fatto che è un capolavoro.
Io avevo letto che , visto che aveva perso il concorso ma viene regolarmente usato , per non creare questioni politiche avrebbero ritirato tutti i 416 rimasti ... evidentemente non è così oppure sono i classici "acquisti liberi" di unità tipo Delta e DEVGRU.

Purtroppo non ha superato soddisfacentemente i test a cui è stato sottoposto , inoltre parrebbe che il budget stimato inizialmente sia andato restringendosi (o forse che siano cresciuti i costi). Attenzione però che le armi dati in valutazione ai reparti li restano , sono delle specie di "vuoti a perdere" che le aziende vendono a prezzi ribassati alle amministrazioni , difficilmente (a meno di sistemi d'arma dai costi sproporzionati) vengono resi a fine valutazione anche se il lotto iniziale è corposo. Il 416 nello specifico si è rivelato si un ottima piattaforma ma ha anche dimostrato grossi problemi di compatibilità con alcune parti attualmente in dotazione, non ultimi con alcuni lotti di caricatori distribuiti in prima linea, questo comporterebbe un ulteriore aggravio economico non indifferente ed il governo USA ha deciso di non adottare questa piattaforma (almeno per ora) , stesso dicasi per il modello 417 (che a onor del vero non ha neppure superato i requirement iniziali). In definitiva e semplificando molto il 416 è un ottima arma , ma costa un botto e richiede anche una serie di spare parts dedicate , lo stesso livello però di affidabilità e precisione è raggiungibile modificando colt attualmente in dotazione a questopunto gli USA che non sono stupidi hanno fatto 2+2 ed hanno deciso di tenersi (per ora) i loro M4 accrocchiati riammodernandoli e poi si vedrà.
